Crossroads-FBCC Logo
The Crossroads—First Baptist Church Creedmoor’s Logo

First Baptist Church Creedmoor is literally planted at the crossroads. We stand at the first major intersection as you come into Creedmoor from Raleigh and other points south. We are at the corner of Main and Church Streets—the crossroads.
We are also at another crossroads. This one is not a geographic location but a place of transition. We are at the place where the rural background of our community meets the metropolitan growth of the Triangle. We cannot argue this point; it is a reality. We may desire to remain a small, rural community, but changing times will not allow that.
FBCC must look toward the future, yet not forget our past. Our heritage includes the forefathers and foremothers  who established this church and sustained it when Creedmoor was a sleepy, rural community known for, among other things, its mule market. Today we must embrace the burgeoning growth of a metropolitan region.

Liz Donohue and I talked for sometime about a graphic image that could capture our rural past and our position in the Triangle—town and country. With her marvelous talent she produced the image you see on our home page as our logo. (Duplicated at bottom of page)  Look at it carefully. Our church is in the center. To the left is the countryside. To the right is the growing city. We are at the crossroads. The past meets the future at FBCC.

What a marvelous gift our forefathers gave us by building our church here. They were true to the vision laid on their hearts by God in building a church here. They may never have thought about our community being captured by a growing metropolitan area, but here we are in 2006, in the shadow of the cities, Raleigh and Durham. Look at the image. That’s who we are—at the crossroads where God placed us to preserve the heritage of our past, standing firmly on the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and to embrace our destiny to become a lighthouse in a rapidly growing, yet troubled, world.
