Advent Season: 2008
Advent at First Baptist Church Creedmoor
November 30—December 24, 2008

The word Advent comes from the Latin word “adventus” which means “arrival.” It is the time for waiting to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. This year, Advent begins on Sunday, November 30 and ends at midnight on Christmas Eve.

FBCC celebrates Advent with a wreath in the Sanctuary. The circular shape of the wreath reminds us of God, his eternal nature and his endless mercy. A different candle on the wreath is lit each Sunday. The candles remind us of our spiritual journey through the Advent season (more).

Organ Concert - December 7

Carlo Curley, American Concert Organ Virtuoso, will play our new Allen Organ in concert at 6:30 PM on December 7. Mr. Curley is from North Carolina but has played in concerts from South Africa to Singapore. Mr. Curley designed the particular model of the Allen Organ that is in our sanctuary.
